Oklahoma's Credit Union Foundation

Helping generations of Oklahomans thrive today and tomorrow.

Why We Do This

At Oklahoma’s Credit Union Foundation, we believe that a stronger community starts with care, education and opportunity. As a member-driven financial cooperative, credit unions were built to serve those who need it most. Our Foundation continues this mission by focusing on three critical areas that impact every Oklahoman: Housing, Health and Financial Literacy.

Credit unions were founded on the principle of “people helping people.” We know that many Oklahomans face barriers to financial services, healthcare, and housing—and we are committed to breaking those barriers down. Whether it’s helping a child heal, preparing a teenager for life after foster care, or supporting families on their journey to secure housing, our Foundation exists to make a difference where it’s needed most.

When we invest in health, financial literacy, and housing, we’re not just meeting today’s needs—we’re building stronger communities for generations to come.

Healthy communities create bright futures. That’s why we support the health of Oklahoma’s youth through partnerships with The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and Credit Unions for Kids. Each year, our Foundation hosts an annual charity event dedicated to raising funds for the Children’s Hospital, ensuring kids and families facing medical challenges receive the care and resources they deserve.
Financial security is a foundation for lifelong success. Through our Youth Financial Literacy (YFL) Program, we provide education, guidance, and hands-on resources to kids in foster care and those aging out of the system. Our dedicated team travels across the state, partnering with agencies and nonprofits, to help young Oklahomans open checking and savings accounts, build financial skills, and gain the confidence they need to manage money and achieve independence.
Safe, stable housing is more than a place to live, it’s a cornerstone of well-being. Our Foundation works to identify and support initiatives that make housing more accessible to underserved families in Oklahoma.
Through Oklahoma's Credit Union's Youth Financial Literacy program, we have opened more than 150 accounts, hosted 30 workshops and welcomed over 1,500 attendees to our events, all in partnership with 25 dedicated nonprofit organizations. We've also raised $450,000 for the Children’s Health Foundation through our annual Sugar & Spurs fundraiser. Looking ahead, housing will be a key focus area, and we’re committed to making a meaningful impact in 2026.
