Finance FYP
A bank is a for-profit company with shareholders (people who have partial ownership of the bank, which means they earn money if the bank does well financially). A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, with a board of directors made up of volunteers.
TLDR; Credit unions focus on putting money back into the community and helping their members (like you!) save money with better interest rates and lower fees.
While Venmo and Cash App — or even using real cash — can be convenient, they’re not always safe and they don’t always help you save money. Cash can be lost or stolen. Mobile payment apps don’t always help you build credit and can’t always protect you from things like fraud (or trying to get your money back if you send it to the wrong person).
You’re never too young or too old to save money! Even a little bit of planning and money budgeting can go a long way, no matter how old you are or how much money you have
You’ve got options!
1. Make a cash deposit at an OKCU location
2. Deposit a check by scanning it in your OKCU app or using Digital Teller
3. Transfer money from your savings account into your checking account in your OKCU app
4. Transfer money into your OKCU account through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, etc
You can visit an OKCU location, use your debit card at an ATM or access Digital Teller!
The only way someone else has access to your account is if you contact the credit union and add them as a joint owner to your account. As a reminder, you should never give someone your username, password or account information.

Staying safe online is important, especially when money is involved. Never give someone your debit card number or the password to your accounts! Remember, OKCU will never ask you for this information.
